 Qualified second-seeded Swiss Roger Federer in the final match of the Halle Open in Germany for men on Saturday after defeating Russian Mikhail Youzhny.

In the first semi-final Federer won the unseeded Russian opponent in straight sets 6-1, 6-4 to ensure competition for the title.
