World No. 6 David Ferrer is through to the championship final after holding off France’s Benoit Paire in three sets. The Spaniard moves on to face Philipp Petzschner, who took out three-time semifinalist Xavier Malisse.

Top seed David Ferrer advanced to the final on Friday, having held on to oust Frenchman Benoit Paire in three sets. After splitting the first two sets, Ferrer opened a 5-0 edge in the final set. The 30-year-old completed the semifinal with 13 of 14 service games held through an hour and 44 minutes.

(Q) Philipp Petzschner def. Xavier Malisse 7-5, 7-5

World No. 145 Philipp Petzschner made his first Tour final in more than a year, following his straight-sets victory over Xavier Malisse. The German converted five of 7 break points en route to a 7-5, 7-5 win in 89 minutes of play. The Belgian ended the day with just 10 of 29 second-service points won.
