Baker continues fine form in Eastbourne

Jamie Baker reached the second
round of the AEGON International with an impressive victory over American Donald Young at Eastbourne.
The Scot progressed to the same stage at Queen's last week before being comfortably beaten by Jo-Wilfried Tsonga but he saw off the world number 50 6-1 6-4 on Monday.
Baker, who has had to battle back from a deadly blood disorder he contracted four years ago, will next face either Germany's Philipp Kohlschreiber or Go Soeda of Japan.
"That's my best win in terms of ranking, no doubt about that," said Baker.
"My next goal is to get to 150. If I can, ranked 200, beat a guy who's in the top 50, there's no reason why I can't, a step at a time (reach the top 50)."
James Ward could not match Baker's exploits after losing in three sets to Marinko Matosevic.
The Londoner was beaten by Kevin Anderson at Queen's last week and although he took the first set on Monday, the Australian world number 82 hit back to triumph 4-6 6-1 6-4.
Marcos Baghdatis, a semi-finalist at Wimbledon six years ago, looked in superb touch as he dismissed Spanish eighth seed Pablo Andujar 6-1 6-1.
Argentina's Carlos Berlocq was a 3-6 6-4 6-2 winner over Mikhail Kukushkin of Kazakhstan, while American Ryan Harrison also came from a set behind to see off Canadian Vasek Pospisil 3-6 7-6 (7/2) 7-6 (8/6).
Fabio Fognini defeated Albert Ramos 7-6 (7/2) 6-7 (3/7) 6-2 and Jeremy Chardy edged out fellow Frenchman Paul-Henri Mathieu 7-5 6-7 (5/7) 7-6 (7/4).
In the women's draw, Anne Keothavong was swept aside by eighth seed Daniela Hantuchova.
The British number one was broken four times en route to a 6-2 6-3 loss.
Tamira Paszek won nine of the last 10 games to beat Marina Erakovic 7-5 6-1, Chanelle Scheepers overcame a second-set blip to defeat Mona Barthel 6-1 4-6 6-1 and Aleksandra Wozniak came from 5-3 behind in the final set before recording a 6-3 4-6 7-6 (7/5) success over Galina Voskoboeva.
