The Queen's club linesman accidentally injured in the shin as frustrated David Nalbandian lashed out with a kick at an advertising hoarding has been pulled from Wimbledon qualifying and gone to ground.

The move was made after London's Daily Telegraph revealed that the man, one Andrew McDougall, filed a criiminal complaint with Scotland Yard which accused the Argentine of "assault."

Officials quickly pulled the official from duty over fears that his over-the-top action would lead to a possibly ugly backlash during qualifying rounds at Roehampton club this week.

Nalbandian, who apologised repeatedly for his rash reaction to losing his serve in the final against Marin Cilic, was stripped of his prize money and ranking points for last week's event and was also fined Eur 10,000.

His camp says that he is now concentrating on his Wimbledon start from Monday and will play the event where he reached the final against Lleyton Hewitt a decade ago.

The official suffered a small gash in his shin after Nalbandian kicked at the wooden hoarding. He was treated by first aid at the time with the matter presumably closed.
